We’ve thought long and hard about how to cover the costs and time of travelling for site visits – a fixed charge would favour remote clients and penalise local clients, and a range of onsite charges based on distance would be complicated.
We decided the fairest solution is to charge for time so that costs rise in proportion with the distance travelled. We use the travelling time as identified by Google Maps plus twenty minutes/per journey for any loading/unloading/tidying up at the start/end of each journey.
Depending on the specific journey, these charges may still not actually cover our travel expenses, but we believe this approach pretty fair, and that any other approach would be complex – if you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact us.
